The American Standard Version of 1901 is an Americanization of the English Revised Bible. It has been called The Rock of Biblical Honesty. It was the product of the work of over 50 Evangelical Christian scholars.

Originally published in 1901 by Thomas Nelson and Sons, the ASV was the standard Bible for many seminaries. In fact, this was the reason for the nickname it gained, the Standard Bible. The ASV was offically the basis for the RSV - Revised Standard Version and the NASB - New American Standard Bible.
